DC Ganderbal reviews arrangements for Independence Day

Ganderbal, July 18: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ganderbal Shyambir convened a meeting of officers to review arrangements for upcoming Independence Day celebration in the district here today.

The meeting was informed that the main function will be held in the premises of Qamriya ground, Ganderbal where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the march past presented by contingents drawn from District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, NCC, PTS Manigam and students of various educational institutions. Cultural programs would also be presented by the students during the function.

The meeting reviewed status of arrangements threadbare including reparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, podium, security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshment, Medicare, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures.

The DC while highlighting the importance of the Independence Day, stressed the concerned officers to finalize all the arrangements before 13th August, the day of full dress rehearsal.

Meanwhile, the DC directed the concerned to ensure that all arrangements are put in place timely for the celebration of Independence Day at Sub Division, Block and Panchayat levels.

ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CPO, ACD, SDM, CEO, Executive Engineers of various wings, EO Municipality, ARTO and other concerned were present in the meeting.
