J&K Reports 224 Covid-19 Cases, No Death

Srinagar, July 16 : Jammu and Kashmir reported 224 fresh covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the overall caseload to 451104, even as there was no death due to the pathogen during the time, officials said on Saturday.

112 cases were reported from Jammu division and as many as from Kashmir division, they said.

Giving district wise details, he said, Srinagar reported 88 cases, Jammu 82 , Udhampur 11, Kathua eight, Baramulla seven, Ganderbal and Pulwama five each, Doda and Budgam four each, Kupwara three, Rajouri two and Samba one.

Among the total cases, 168090 are from Jammu division and 288739 from Kashmir, they said.

There was no death from Jammu region due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4758 persons have succumbed to the virus—2333 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 113 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—55 from Jammu division and 58 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 967 active case— 564 in Jammu and 403 in Kashmir.

The officials told GNS there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 8564 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
