Commissioner SMC reviews arrangements for   Urs  of Shah-e- Hamdan( RA) and upcoming Eid -Ul -Adha

Directs to provide dedicated services  in all the wards of the Srinagar City for collection of Animal hides and skins on the occasion of Eid ul Adha

Srinagar, July 5 :The Srinagar Municipal Corporation will be providing a dedicated service in all the wards of the Srinagar City for collection of Animal hides/skin on Eid UL Adha.

This was directed in a meeting held under Chairmanship of Commissioner SMC  Athar Amir Khan in which all senior Officers including Joint Commissioners,   FA/ CAO Secretary  SMC, heads of all the wings of SMC including Sanitation, Enforcement, Planning , Revenue, Electrical, Health and all ward officers were present.
In view of Urs of  Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) , Athar passed on directions to the concerned to upkeep sanitation in and  around the shrine and its adjacent areas.
He also passed on directions to go for repairing of defunct street light and also keep a team of Dog catching squad  available round the clock for management of stray dogs.
For upcoming Eid Ul Adha, Commissioner SMC besides directing officials to maintain Upgraded Sanitation in all the ward of Srinagar city he also said that no garbage should be seen lying anywhere and all the dumping points shall be cleared twice a day.
It was also decided that SMC shall be providing a dedicated service for collection of Animal hides and skins in all wards of Srinagar City on the eve of Eid ul Adha.
He has also directed all the ward officers to make an appeal and has himself requested the general public not to throw Animal hides/skin in public places or mix with Municipal waste.
The sacrificial waste/ Animal hides has to be retained and handed over to the concerned driver and the SMC official who shall visit their place after contacting them so that the waste is collected and properly  disposed off by SMC said  Athar.
He said the special attention  has to be given in all religious places including shrines  and mosques on account of sanitation, functionality of all the street lights, continuous water supply , rigorous Anti encroachment drives, Anti polythene drives, continuous services of  dog catching squad for management of dogs so that people offering prayers on the occasion shall not face any problem.
In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic and pedestrians movement the SMC’s Enforcement wing has been directed to conduct regular Anti encroachment drives .
