ICPS rescues minor girl from child labour in Kulgam

Srinagar, June 30 : Officials of the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) and Labour Department rescued a minor girl from child labour in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday, an official spokesman said.

He said on specific information received on Wednesday, a minor girl child was rescued from child labour by officials from ICPS and Labour Department at Kulgam in south Kashmir.
The officials from ICPS said that stern action against the culprit, from whom the minor girl child was rescued, will be initiated as per the Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

They also informed that the department also intimated the father of the child telephonically and was asked to attend the office of the Child Welfare Committee Kulgam to explain the factual position with regard to the case.

The Child Welfare Committee will further inquiry into the case.

The child was handed over to her father under proper undertaking as per Juvenile Justice Act, added the officials.
