J&K Reports 65 New Covid-19 Cases, Active Tally Nears 300

Srinagar, June 25 : Upward trend in covid-19 continued as Jammu and Kashmir reported 65 new infections in 24 hours that pushed overall tally to 454742 while the death toll remained at 4755 with no fatality during the time, officials said on Saturday.

They said that 38 cases were reported from Jammu, 18 from Srinagar, five from Samba, two from Udhampur one each from Poonch and Baramulla districts respectively. Among the total cases of 454742, 166801 are from Jammu division and 287941 in Kashmir.

There was no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4755 persons have succumbed to the virus—2330 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 21 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—16 from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Valley. So far 449693 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 294— 188 in Jammu and 106 in Kashmir.

The officials told GNS there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 8262 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
