PM to inaugurate Biotech Startup Expo 2022

New Delhi, June 9 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Biotech Startup Expo – 2022 at Pragati Maidan here on Thursday at 10:30 AM.

He will also address on the occasion.

“At 10:30 AM tomorrow, 9th June, will be inaugurating the Biotech Startup Expo – 2022 at Pragati Maidan. This 2-day programme brings together stakeholders from the sector with an aim to strengthen the movement of building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

The two day event, being held on June 9 and 10, is being organised by the Department of Biotechnology and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).

It is being held to mark completion of ten years of the setting up of the Council, the PMO said.

Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) was set up by Department of Biotechnology to nurture and promote biotechnology industry in India.

The theme of the Expo is Biotech Startup Innovations: Towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The Expo will act as a platform to connect entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, scientists, researchers, bio-incubators, manufacturers, regulators, government officials, etc.

About 300 stalls will be set up at the Expo, which will showcase the applications of biotechnology in various fields such as healthcare, genomics, bio-pharma, agriculture, industrial biotechnology, waste-to-value, clean energy, among others.
