Delhi metro services disrupted thrice in a week

New Delhi, June 9 : For the third time in a week, the metro service on the Blue line (Dwarka sector 21-Vaishali/ Noida Electronic City) was disrupted during peak hours on Thursday morning, due to the damage to the “Overhead electrification wire”, which caused inconvenience to the commuters.

“There has been damage to the Over Head Electrification wire due to flash over by an external object between Yamuna Bank and Indraprastha. Repair work is being done on a war footing. Update on restoration shall be provided soon. The inconvenience is regretted.” said the DMRC in a tweet.

Later, the service on the blue line was restored, but the angry commuters expressed their displeasure on social media.

A number of commuters took to Twitter after the delay on the Blue line was announced.

One of the Twitter users, Deepak Kumar, said, “I wonder how do u maintain such poor service. Every day some issue, and it’s looks like DMRC is overburdened.”

“How does the blue line metro manage to screw up during the peak hour?? This is not the 1st time it is almost happening every other day, N no action is taken to improve anything,” another twitterati, Neha Varghese Vipin said.

This was the third time that the metro service on the blue line was disrupted.

On Monday, the service was disrupted twice in a day due to a technical snag. The service was delayed between Yamuna Bank, an interchange hub, and Indraprastha Metro stations (towards Dwarka) were affected between 6.30 pm and 8 pm, after a contact wire broke due to a bird hit.
