DSEJ Sacks Teacher For Remaining Absent In Poonch

Jammu, June 2 : Director School Education Jammu has ordered termination from services of a teacher in Poonch district for remaining “absent” from the last more than five year.

“keeping in view the continuous unauthorized absence of more than five years, the services of Mtr Nishat Firdous, Teacher, Govt HSS Mohri Gursai, is hereby terminated from School Education Department from the date the said official remained un-authorizedly absent from her legitimate duties viz. 01.03.2017 in terms of Article 113 & 128 of J&K Civil Services Regulations 1956,” reads an order passed by Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma (JKAS), Director School Education Jammu.

According to the order, a copy of which lies with GNS, Mtr. Nishat Firdous was appointed as Teacher in District Cadre Poonch and joined her services in government Higher Secondary School, Mohri Gursai on 13 September 2014. Subsequently she availed commuted leave from 21.09.2015 to 17.10.2015 and 29.10.2015 to 06.11.2015, the order reads further. Thereafter, she had availed half pay leave for
20 days from 01.04.2016 to 20.04.2016 and again half pay leave “not due” from 21.04.2016 to 17.10.2016 for 190 days. “Once again she remained on extra ordinary leave w.e.f. 18.10.2016 to 28.02.2017 for 134 day no kind of leave was due to her and she was warned to join her duties immediately but she did not bother to reply,” the order reads, adding, “she remained absent w.e.f 01.03.2017 to 23-07-2017 and on 24.07.2017 she had applied for extension of leave which was rejected.”

The order further reads that a number of notices were served to her, the latest being pre-termination notice on 04.05.2022 which was published in two newspapers and also served at her home address by the Principal, Higher Secondary School, Mohri Gursai. However she did not respond to the notice, the order added.
