Car lifting module busted in Srinagar, three arrested, four cars recovered: Police

Police again Urges all its citizens to install High Security Number Plates on all vehicles to prevent such thefts

Srinagar, May 23:Police on Monday claimed to have busted a car lifting module by arresting three persons in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

In a statement to GNS, the police said that today police Station Nowgam busted a gang of car lifters. The Nowgam police got information about this module while investigating a theft case under FIR No.57/2022 of PS Nowgam and subsequently the three accused were arrested and identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar @ Beta son of Mohd Amin Dar resident of Zangibagh, Mohd Younis Dar @ inna Mir son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Gund Chakpora and Sheikh Adnan Hussain son of Sheikh Mohd Hussain resident of Mochua, Badgam.

The police spokesman further stated that from their possession 04 stolen vehicles were recovered which includes 01 Alto 800Car,01 Santro Car, 01 Tata mobile ,01 Alto K10.

It is pertinent to mention that FIR No 05/2022, FIR No 07/2022 and FIR No.17/2022 were already registered in PS Nowgam regarding thefts of these cars Srinagar Police again requests all its citizens to install High Security Number Plates on all vehicles to prevent such thefts and in case if theft happens, it is relatively easier to trace stolen car, reads the statement.
