IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar Kashmir extending the excellent academic services to vibrant the youth of valley Dr. Meena

Srinagar, May 21 :An induction meet at Govt. Degree College (Boys), Anantnag for the learners of IGNOU January 2022 session with the distribution of Study Material on the spot after concluded the meeting.

Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU Regional Center Srinagar organized an Induction meeting in two sessions Morning & Evening exclusively for the learner of January 2022 session at Govt. Degree College (Boys), Anantnag Study Centre Code 1211. The proposed Induction meeting is purposely convened to orient, to inform and familiarize with Open Distance Academic components (ODL) and to disseminate the academic activities through this informative, interactive meet for the enrolled learners of January 2022. The main motive & aims of this programme was to familiarize the learners of IGNOU about their course contents, credit system, and submission of assignments, Re-registration and online examination form submission process and preparing of project, synopsis and internship which are the essential components of their respective programmes. During the induction meeting we cleared all doubts, problems and queries of learners through the deliberation of interaction among the learners, academic counsellors, part time staff and IGNOU management.
The objective of the Induction Meeting was to boost up in morally and aware about the newly enrolled Learners of IGNOU about their academic programs, so that this meeting will ensure them to pursue their respective academic programmes without any obstacles, hindrances and problems. IGNOU Regional Center Srinagar is one of largest Regional Centres across the Nation in terms of enrolment number and activation of various programmes offered from the various schools of the University in Kashmir valley.
On this occasion Regional Director Dr. Kamlesh Meena presented a wide power point presentation about Indira Gandhi National Open University by enlightening the main features, objectives and mandate of the University specially focused the role of IGNOU in Kashmir valley is commendable for imparting Higher Education opportunities at door steps with the view of democratize of Higher Education to all segment of societies without any demographical, social, gender, caste, color, creeds, and linguistic barriers. Dr. Meena said the role of IGNOU in higher education is very inevitable and unforgettable, IGNOU changes the lives of millions of people across the nation by transforming the benefits of higher education with the core value of openness, affordability, flexibility, exclusiveness, lifelong learning process and excellence.
Principal, GDC Boys Anantnag Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat appreciated the efforts recently made by IGNOU, Regional Centre Srinagar regarding redressing student grievances, effective student support services and launching of new facilities and activation of new academic programmes to give the benefit of youth of Kashmir valley through IGNOU, Regional Centre Srinagar Kashmir Valley. Principal Government Degree College (Boys), Anantnag Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat welcomed the regional director by presenting a bouquet and with the acknowledgement of work activities of Dr. Kamlesh Meena for strengthen the student support services from regional centre Srinagar by rendering his tireless services to build the career of our youth through imparting higher education opportunities from the Regional centre Srinagar. The other participants on the occasion were distinguished guests, college staff, academic counsellors, part time staff of IGNOU SC-1211 and IGNOU Regional Centre Staff members Mr. Ishtiyaq Nazir, Mr. Furhan Ahmad Chachoo & Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad. After the conclusion of the induction meeting the Regional Centre Srinagar facilitated the SLM to the learners Jan 2022 session the same SLM has been issued to a number of learners on spot after the conclusion of the induction meet. ARD, Dr. Mudasir Hassan Bhat briefed about the importance of higher education in today’s time and he motivated the enrolled learners to take it seriously so that they can complete their courses in time.
The induction meeting was attended by more than 480 learners including girls and boys who are living in nearby and far flung areas of Anantnag District. Number of students asked different types of questions to understand the modality of the Open Distance Learning system and job opportunities and avenues through these programmes.
