DGP J&K visits Baramulla; reviews security scenario

Appreciates Baramulla Police for busting terror module, directs for meticulous investigation for logical conclusion of the case

Srinagar, May 20: The Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh today visited North Kashmir’s Baramulla District where he interacted with the Jawans and officers and also reviewed security scenario of the district in an officers meeting held at District Police Office Baramulla.

The meeting was attended by DIG North Kashmir, Shri Udaybhaskar Billa, SSP Baramulla, Shri Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DySP Headquarters Baramulla Shri Sajjad Bukhari, SDPO Pattan Shri Mohammad Nawaz Khanday and other jurisdictional officers.

The DGP on his arrival was presented ceremonial guard of honour after which he interacted with the police officers/personnel who were part of operation in which five terrorists involved in recent Barammulla grenade attack were arrested. The DGP appreciated the team for cracking the terror module in quickest possible time.

Directing for speedy completion of the case and framing of charges against the accused, the DGP directed for meticulous investigation for logical conclusion of the case.  He stressed for using the modern and scientific tools to ensure exemplary punishment to all the perpetrators. The DGP directed for sharing the weekly progress report with the PHQ. He directed the officers that the action against terrorists and their helpers must continue and all the suspicious elements be kept under check so as to foil their ill designs aimed at disrupting normal lives of the people. He stressed for more intensified anti-terrror operations.

Shri Singh directed the officers to evolve more and more effective mechanism and augment the security grids in border and hinter land to ensure public safety. He said cowardly attacks on innocent civilians’ show the frustration of terror handlers and stressed for stringent action against the elements inimical to peace and perpetrators of terror violence. He said that collective efforts are required to defeat saboteurs and enemies of peace. He stressed on the importance of maintaining close synergy between the forces to meet the security challenges. He said that terror outfits are attempting to create a sense of fear and terror among the general public and stressed upon the officers to remain extra vigilant and alert so that their evil attempts are foiled

Shri Singh stressed upon the officers to ensure high alertness and preparedness to thwart the mischievous attempts of anti national elements. Stressing for strengthening the security grid, the DGP said “our efforts should be resolute and specific giving no room to any complacency”. Proactive measures have to be taken to ensure peace and order, DGP added.

He emphasized upon the officers to increase Naka checking and night domination.   He also stressed on strengthening of Naka check points and plugging the gaps with strict security measures so that no room is available to the enemies of peace. He stressed for night patrolling of sensitive areas to keep the terrorists and their associates under check.

The DIG North Kashmir and SSP Baramulla briefed the DGP regarding the various measures taken for public safety. The officers also apprised the DGP about the anti-terror operations.
