Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2022:MD SBM visits Yatri Niwas, other locations; Inspects sanitation works

Jammu, May 19: Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission (U), Abhishek Sharma, today visited Yatri Niwas and adjoining locations to take stock of sanitation and cleanliness works being executed there for the pilgrims of annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2022 scheduled to commence on 30th June this year.

Pertinently, the visit was part of government’s initiatives towards ensuring proper facilities for the yatries of Shri Amarnath Ji Pilgrimage. MD is visiting various districts to review the condition of existing toilets and related utilities besides inspecting locations where new toilets shall be set up.

Secretary JMC, Atul Gupta and other senior officers accompanied the MD during the visit.

MD inspected various repair and renovation works being executed there for convenience of the pilgrims. He asked for expediting the pace of progress on these vital works for completion within the fixed time.

He asked the JMC officials to get all the toilets, urinals and bath stations cleaned up within a week’s time.

Pertinently, the sanitation will be an important component in this year’s Amarnath Yatra and steps are being taken up to make this a Swachh Amarnath Yatra.
