Budh Purnima: DC Poonch pays obeisance at Baba Lohar Devta Shrine

Poonch, May 16: On the occasion of Holy festival of Bud Purnima, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet paid obeisance at Baba Lohar Devta Shrine at village Ghani where he performed the Havan.

The Commandant of KG 10 Brigade, Rakesh Nair also performed the Havan.

Other officers accompanying the Deputy Commissioner included, Chief Executive Officer, PDA, Dr. Mohammad. Tanveer; Assistant Commissioner Development, Abid Hussain Shah; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Rajesh Sethi; Executive Engineer JPDCL, Irshad Hussain; District Culture Officer, Dr. Alamdar Adam besides BDC Member,  Chowdhary Amanullah, Members of Committee, Rajinder Singh( PP) and other concerned officers.

The management Committee of the Shrine warmly welcomed and greeted the Deputy Commissioner and the team of officers of District Administration.

The Committee members raised various demands including installation of a transformer to improve power supply, adequate provision of drinking water, new water schemes, renovation of shrine road and other arrangements.

Responding to the demands, the DC assured the members of the Committee that all their genuine demands would be addressed in a time bound manner.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Xen PDD to arrange funds for the installation of the  power transformer, while Executive Engineer PHE  was asked to make provision for uninterrupted supply of water to the Shrine.

The DC also advocated for promotion of the Shrine as a Heritage and pilgrim destination.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner along with Commandant KG 10 Brigade  also visited the border belt.
