DC Anantnag takes stock of arrangements at Nunwan Base Camp

Anantnag, May  14: The Deputy Commissioner,  Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today took stock of the arrangements being put in place  at Nunwan Base Camp by various line departments.

On the occasion, Dr Singla reviewed the clearance of space for  tentage facilities at the camp besides he also reviewed the arrangements for serving of langar and other facilities for the yatries.

Meanwhile, he directed for expediting the repairing of washrooms at the location.

Regarding erection of tents around Pahalgam, the DC said that locations should be identified in advance and  ensure that  smooth flow of traffic is not affected.

He emphasized on a viable solid liquid waste management plan of camps.

The Deputy Commissioner was informed that electricity will be supplied to the camp in the next week besides water outlets are already operational at the site.

He also reviewed the movement plan for yatries besides stressed on efficient utilisation of space and proper solid liquid waste management to ensure smooth conduct of SANJY 2022.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Pahalgam, Tehsildar Pahalgam, BDO Pahalgam, representatives from Jal Shakti, R&B and Forest departments among others.
