Orientation Programme for Handicrafts, Handloom Cooperative Societies held at Doda

Doda, May 12: The Office of the Assistant Director, Handicrafts and Handloom, Doda, organised “Orientation Programme for Handicrafts and Handloom Cooperative Societies”. The programme was organised to inform the Cooperative Societies about the demand and market potential of Handicrafts and Handloom products and self-reliance schemes.

  During the programme representatives of 19 H&H Cooperative societies, artisans and weavers participated.

The artisans/weavers participating in the programme were made aware about schemes of Handicrafts and Handloom Department viz. Credit Card Scheme, Karkhandar Scheme, Financial Support of Cooperatives, Scholarship scheme for Children of Artisans and Weavers registered with the department, Pradhan Mantri Weavers Mudra Yojana, Share Capital Loan Scheme and departmental training programmes.

During the financial year 2021-22, 36 Cooperative societies in the district were provided an infusion of Rs. 18.00 lakh as financial assistance. Under financial support for Cooperatives registered in the Handicrafts and Handloom Department, every Cooperative society receives financial assistance of Rs 1 Lakh in two equal installments for two years.
