Pattan residents aghast over frequent Power cuts during Ramadhan

Pattan, April 20: Continuous Unscheduled power cuts in Ramadhan, particularly during Sehri and Iftar, have caused a lot of inconvenience to people across the Pattan town in District Baramulla.

According to CNS general public of Pattan town complained that at the time of Sehri and Iftaar, on most of the days, there is no electricity, due to which they face huge problems in carrying out their religious obligations, they demanded uninterrupted power supply during Ramadhan, especially at Sehri and Iftaar, Besides that the Commercial activities of traders have also been disturbed due to un scheduled power cuts.

Since the onset of the holy month of Ramadhan, the town has been witnessing unusual power cuts. People are outraged at the authorities for claiming to provide round-the-clock supply during Ramadan.

Locals told CNS that they haven’t witnessed such power cuts in peak winters the way they are witnessing them at present.

They stated that they have a lot of difficulty during Sehri because the power is turned off around 3:30 a.m. every day, forcing people to eat Sehri by candlelight.
