Indian Army constructs Insaaniyat Bridge in Chhatroo, Kishtwar

Kishtwar, April 18: Indian Army, in its continued efforts to reduce hardships of people of far flung areas, has constructed an iron foot bridge, naming it “INSANIYAT BRIDGE” at Zalla village in Chhatroo area of Kishtwar district.

Dedicated to the People of the remote area, this iron foot bridge has reduced distance from the remote villages to Chhatroo town by Seven kilometers, thus bringing smiles on the faces of people, who are highly appreciating the efforts of Indian Army in mitigating their hardships.

It’s noteworthy to mention that recently a boy from Zalla village fell down from the existing wooden log bridge, which led to demand for a permanent bridge by the locals.

They approached the Indian Army for help and after assessing the requirement, the local Rashtriya Rifles unit constructed a 45 feet long and 3 feet wide iron foot bridge for the people. The bridge is strong enough to sustain a load of 5-6 persons and can also be used for movement of cattle.

This initiative of the Army has further strengthened the bond with the Awam. The foot bridge was inaugurated by Brigadier Pranab Misra, Commander 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, in presence of SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar, BDO Chatroo Tasleem Wani and the other dignitaries and people of the area.
