Nowshera Forest Division distributes fruit plants to mark Baisakhi celebrations

Rajouri, April 14: Nowshera Forest Division on Thursday organised a Plant distribution stall at  Gurdwara Sahib  Tanda in Forest Block Kangri to mark the celebration of Baisakhi.

Around 400 fruit plants were distributed among the people under the theme Har Gaon Hariyali.

Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Neelima Shah said that the department has taken up a massive awareness cum plantation drive to highlight the importance of plants.

“Under the theme Har Gaon Hariyali, Nowshera Forest Division is organising such camps on all the religious, cultural and social events” she said.

 Range Forest Officer Sunderbani, Rakesh Verma said that the objective of the event was to make people aware about the religious and cultural importance of plants.

Besides distribution of plants, firefighting equipment was also demonstrated on the occasion.
