Security grid alert; nobody needs to panic: LG Manoj Sinha

Says all religious places like masjids, temples, churches, Gurduwaras to be protected; people need to come forward too for safety of religious places

Pattan, April 9 : Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that the security grid of the UT was alert and there was no need for any panic by anyone living in the region.

“There is no need to be afraid as our security forces including police and paramilitary are always vigilant,” the LG told reporters on the side lines of a function at Pattan here, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

In reply to a query about what strategy will be adopted after the recent attacks on non- locals in Kashmir, he said strategies aren’t discussed before press.

About a query about safety of shrines and religious places, the LG said that shrines of any religion be it a church, masjid, temple, or a gurudwara should be kept safe while the people should take care of these things by supporting the administration. “All the religious places will be protected but people also need to play their role,” he said.
