Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah greet people on Ramnavami

Hope the auspicious occasion strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and amity

Jammu, April 9: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday extended warm greetings to the  people on the festivity of Ramnavami.

The duo said the festivity is yet another glaring example of J&K’s abundant cultural richness, and a source of wonder for the people across the globe.

They hoped that the festival is observed in the best tradition of brotherhood and gaity. They also hoped that the festivity increases the prospects of peace and prosperity in J&K, and rest of the country.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah President J&K National Conference was here in Jammu for a short visit. Provincial President Jammu Mr Rattan Lal Gupta and Rakesh Singh Raka presented a chuni  to him as a blessings of Mata Vaishnu Devi.

While interacting with the people who joined NC, Dr. Farooq said that the doors of the party are open for those who want to strengthen the idea of pluralistic, democratic, progressive and United Jammu and Kashmir. The Party, he stated takes pride in giving platform to all those individuals who want to do their bit to build bridges between different communities, regions and sections of the society, he said adding, “NC strategy and vision in politics is etched with the welfare of people and protecting the political, social and cultural interests of the diverse sections of J&K’s society from all regions and religious.”

He exhorted the new entrants on the occasion to shoulder the worries of people by airing them at all the appropriate levels. Addressing the party functionaries, Dr Farooq said, Perception  of public’s voice in administration and government has decreased due to the backsliding of democratic, governance deficit and administrative inertia.

Those who joined the party from Surankote, District Poonch Dr. Mumtaz Shah and his supporters.

From Nowshera, Rajouri District who joined the party Dr Raghbir Singh Manhas (Retd Medical Superitendent), Dr. D.B Singh (Rtd Deputy Director), Chander Mohan Sharma (Rtd ZEPO), Charan Singh ex – Sarpanch, Sanjeev Singh (Rtd Hawaldar), Moul Raj (Contractor), Sunita Devi Ex- Sarpanch, Romesh Chander (Social Worker), Bhasin Wakaram, Habib choudhary, Mamta Mehra, Shallu Sharma and others. The joining was organized by Vijay Lochan Provincial President SC Cell.
