Seven houseboats gutted in massive fire at Nigeen Lake, property worth crores of rupees damaged

Srinagar,05 April :Today Batamaloo traders association in its press statement expressed grief on the fire incident of nigeen where in 7 house boats and property worth crores of rupees where gutted during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday the association urged the LG Administration to take an urgent view and compensate / rehabilitate the seven house boats.

The association also impressed upon the District and Divisional Administration to see that the supply of essential commodities are maintained both at markets levels and government distribution system the association also expressed its grief on the civilian lives loss during the recent month while paying homage to the departed souls all prayed that this Ramadan brings peace and prosperity to this region. The association also urged the transport department and S.S.P Traffic to ensure rural transport facility at Batamaloo as the traders are not able to complete their trade activity in absence of rural transport. The Batamaloo area has been an epicenter of whole sale dealers with primary customer base from rural area who are finding it impossible to transport smaller quantities of goods and change of vehicles at PantaChowk and parimpora respectively. The association also urges the division commissioner Kashmir and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to intervene in to the matter and give a relief to the dying trade and commerce at Batamaloo.
