Moon Sighted; first Ramadan on Sunday in J&K: Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam

Srinagar, April 2 : The holy month of Ramadan will begin tomorrow (Sunday) in Jammu and Kashmir as the moon has been sighted, announced J&K Grand Mufti on Saturday.

He said that moon sightings have been reported from various places and other places.

“The moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted. The holy month will begin from April 03,” Mufti Nasir told news agency. He said that the first Tarwih prayers will be offered tonight (Saturday).

Mufi Nasir urged people of Kashmir to pray for peace and prosperity of Valley and to spend time in seeking repentance for sins and freedom from hellfire from Almighty Allah in the blessed month of Ramadan.
