Efforts on to make Anantnag TB free by 2023: Piyush Singla

Anantnag, Mar 29: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today presided over a felicitation program organised by District Tuberculosis Center Anantnag to felicitate various officials of Health department whose hard work and dedication has resulted in significant TB reduction in Anantnag.

On the occasion, the DC administered pledge to all present committing to eliminate TB and take necessary steps in this regard.

He congratulated the medical teams from Anantnag and Kulgam and said that the TB has a major societal impact and TB eradication has remained a high priority for the government.

He said that with the same focus, he is confident that next year Anantnag will be TB Free.

 He said that in achieving 60 percent reduction and in making Anantnag TB free, several ground level workers under the able guidance of CMO, Dy CMO, DTO and various BMOs have made dedicated efforts. He said he is hopeful that they will continue to do so.

Dr Singla assured that the district administration will always extend maximum support to the health department in their future endeavours.

District Tuberculosis Officer, Syed Faheem said that 60 percent reduction in TB incidence in the district has resulted in Anantnag bagging gold among 7 other districts in the country. He said WHO, CTD and Medical colleges are involved in claim verification process. An extensive SNC survey was conducted in the district and based on findings, Anantnag had achieved 60 percent reduction in incidence of TB.

Various officials and ground level workers of DTC Anantnag and Kulgam were felicitated on the occassion. CMO, Dy CMO, DTO, BMOs from Anantnag and Kulgam were present on the occassion among others.
