Two drug peddlers, One Timber smuggler arrested by Pulwama Police in two different incidents,  Contraband substances/Illicit Timber recovered.

Pulwama, Mar 23:  On a specific information regarding movement of timber smuggler, a Police Party from Police Station Rajpora established a naka at Shadimarg. During naka checking a Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK03B-3975 coming towards Shadimarg from Drubgam was intercepted for checking. During search huge quantity of illegal timber were recovered from the said vehicle. The accused driver has been arrested on spot which later identified as Mohd Altaf Dar S/O Gh Mohd Dar R/O Ayangund Rajpora. Also the vehicle has been seized used for commission of the crime. Accordingly Case FIR No. 18/22 U/S 379, 6 Forest Act has been registered at PS Rajpora and investigation has been initiated.

In another incident, on a tip off information, a Police Party from Police Station Rajpora laid a surprise naka at Checki Badri Nath Rajpora. During naka checking a vehicle bearing Registratio No. JK01V-9211 was intercepted for checking in which two persons were boarded. During search 6 kg of Poppy Straw were recovered from the said vehicle. The accused persons have been arrested on spot which were identified as Javid ahmad Matoo S/O Wali Mohd Matoo & Nisar Ahmad Das S/O Ahmadullah Das both residents of Bijbehara Anantnag. To this effect case FIR No. 20/22 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act stands registered at PS Rajpora and investigation set into motion.

Pulwama Police is committed to eradicate the social evils from the  district and such actions will continue in future. General Public is once again requested to cooperate with Police by sharing inputs related to drug peddling etc so that appropriate action can be taken against the culprits.
