Samoon calls for expediting works on ITIs

Jammu, Mar 16: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today chaired a meeting to review targets achieved by the department between November and March months of the current financial year here at Civil Secretariat.

Principal Secretary was apprised that the constitution of Institute Management Committee for Model ITI Jammu has been drafted.

Dr Samoon directed for conducting timely meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). He also directed the respective officers to make list of top ITIs of the UT for further development activities.

Principal Secretary was also apprised of employing Management Interface System (MIS) for tracking pass outs from various skill institutes under PMKVY 3.0.

He asked the executing agencies to complete pending and languishing works being executed on ITIs in all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir. He called for efficient and judicious utilisation of funds and sought monthly progress reports from the executing agencies.

Samoon also directed the executing agency to expeditiously complete allied works on model ITIs including construction of approach roads, water and electricity connections etc.

The meeting was attended by Director Skill Development Department, Sudershan Kumar; Chief Engineer JKPCC, Pardeep Sharma; Additional Secretary ARI; Secretary JKSSB, Sachin Jamwal and CE PWD.
