Zero tolerance towards encroachment on Govt. Land: DC B’pora

Special Revenue Control room to be established in the district

Bandipora, Mar 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad today convened a meeting to take detailed review of all revenue related matters.

The meeting discussed various issues related to  Custodian Land, Rakhs and Farms Land, Eviction of Kahcharai and State land, Digitization and Geo Tagging of Waqf  properties and conversion of Agricultural land.

It also reviewed preparation of Jamabandi/ Girdawari, reconstruction of missing Revenue records and status of Revenue e-Services.

The DC stressed on removal of encroachment and handing-over of records for various purposes by the Government. He asked the concerned to ensure speedy disposal of Revenue related complaints if any. He said a Special Revenue Control Room will be established for fast disposal of Revenue related issues and grievances.

He asked the concerned to ensure safety of Revenue records and to bring all Revenue related services online within the set target.

Dr Owais stressed on digitization of certificate and land passbooks and said that digitization makes work easy for both officials and the public.

He also appreciated the work of the Revenue department and asked the concerned to remove bottlenecks if any regarding functioning of the department.

The DC asked the officers and officials of Revenue department to enhance the pace of identification and submit the status of custodian land. He said the administration has adopted Zero tolerance towards encroachment on Govt. Land and directed for retrieval of state land within stipulated time. He also stressed on early disposal of court cases.

Earlier, the DC chaired a meeting of concerned officers regarding the conversion of agricultural land for non agricultural purposes. The meeting discussed threadbare progress of change of land use cases in Bandipora.

SDMs of Gurez and Sumbal besides Tehsildar Gurez attended the meeting virtually while Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other revenue officials attended the meeting in person.
