Srinagar Police Busts inter-state Drug Mafia cartel

Huge Quantity of Drugs along with proceeds of Drugs Recovered

Srinagar, Mar 12: Srinagar Police in continuation its drive against drug menace have cracked whip on drug peddlers and arrested five(5) notorious inter-state drug peddlers along with thirty five thousand(35,000) Spasmo proxyon capsules and Rupees ₹70200 proceeds of narcotics
The arrested persons are Tariq Ahmad Wango S/O Ab Khaliq R/O Chinkral Mohalla Srinagar,
Manzoor Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Mohammad Iqbal Mir S/O Noor Mohammad Mir, Tariq Ahmad Sofi S/O Mohammad Afzal Sofi All residents of Tengpora Byepass Srinagar and
Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh alias Vicky S/O Ghulam Mohammad R/O Zaindar Mohalla.

They were arrested from a vehicle number HR26 BA-5606 in which they were travelling after a specific input was generated by Karalkhud Police station about the movement of these notorious drug peddlers around SRTC bridge in Karalkhud.

These peddlers we’re on move towards other district for delivery of the illegal consignment.

It is pertinent to mention that Tariq Ahmed Wango is already involved in six FIRs in different police stations of Srinagar district and was also lodged in Public Safety Act in 2019.

Subsequently a Case under FIR No. 8/2022 u/s 8/22, 27 (A), 29 NDPS Act is being registered at Police station Kral Khud and investigation has been taken up to identify and unravel all the forward and backward channels of this illegal inter-state trade.
