Temple gutted in Shopian fire incident

Shopian, Mar 10: A temple was gutted in a fire incident in Zainpora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a temple was destroyed in a fire incident. They said that the cause of the fire was the short circuit.

They added that there are few Pandit families living in the area and for the worship, a makeshift temple had been erected there.

“Due to the short circuit, flames emanated from the temple. The fire was doused by firefighters with the active support of local Muslims and Pandits,” said an official.

Police in this regard have registered a case and started an investigation.
