Cultural Unit Srinagar, DIPR celebrates ‘International Women’s Day’ at GHSS Amira Kadal, Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 8: The Cultural Unit Srinagar of DIPR, in collaboration with Government Girls Higher Secondary School Amira Kadal Srinagar, today celebrated International Women Day, 2022 with zeal at GHSS Amira Kadal, here.

Cultural Officer Kashmir, Burhan Hussain was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Principal GHSS Amira Kadal, Affifa Ashai was the Guest of Honor.

On the occasion, students spoke about the achievements of women in various fields, and raised awareness on gender bias under the theme “Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.

 The Chief Guest felicitated the first three position holders’ viz. Ansab, Syed Afrah, Nailah respectively with mementos and other participants with certificates.

The Cultural Officer congratulated the women who have contributed tremendously in various sectors besides various causes. He highlighted the challenges faced by women in every sphere of life and emphasized on educating the women and making them literate.

He laid stress on the role of women as a nation builder and said that growth and development of not only a family but the entire world depends on the growth of women.

Speaking in her address, Principal GHSS Amira Kadal congratulated the participating students for their impressive speeches. She stressed that in this present digital age, students should capitalize the online platform in a positive way and find ways and means wherein they can grab opportunities to give a proper direction to their careers.

Officials of the cultural unit and staff members of GHSS Amira Kadal were present on the occasion.
