OPD services to resume at Bone & Joint hospital today: MS

Says will make emergency operation theatre functional in due course of time

Srinagar, Mar 7 : Authorities at Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla Srinagar have decided to resume Out Patient Department (OPD) from today.

Medical Superintendent of Bone and Joint hospital, Dr. Mian Suhail told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that administration has decided to resume OPD services from today.

He said that as of now they can’t admit patients here but can provide them consultations and diagnostics. “Being an important hospital, it’s function can’t be taken over by other hospital.”

About functioning of emergency operation theatre, he said that it will be made functional in due course of time.

“In due course of time, we will start that also but not immediately,” he said.

Starting of OPD services in just two to three days after the fire incident at Bone and Joint hospital has come as good news and relief to hundreds of patients.

Pertinently, the top floor of one of the buildings of B&J hospital has completely got damaged, including an Operation Theatre and Academic Block in a fire incident on Friday evening, however, all patients, attendants and staff were evacuated safely.
