5-Day basic civil defence cum disaster management training camp concludes at Udhampur

Udhampur, Mar 5: The five Day long basic civil defence cum Disaster Management training camp organised by Udhampur Civil Defence unit concluded today here at the Subash Stadium.

 The camp was held under the leadership of Danesh Rana, Commandant General, Homeguards /Civil Defence & SDRF J&K-Jammu and under the supervision of Vikas Gupta I/C Dy. Inspector General of Police, Homeguards /Civil Defense & SDRF Jammu and the close supervision of Dy. Controller, Civil Defence Udhampur, Vidya Sagar.

As per Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, the training camp commenced on Feb 26, 2022 in which 100 Youth Club / Staff members of District Youth Service & Sports  office Udhampur were trained as Civil Defence  Volunteers.

During the training camp, the participants were made aware about the CD Act. 1968 & DM Act 2005, Air Raid warning system, Causality handling & transportation, First aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Chocking, Fire fighting and other emergency methods of rescue as well as rescue knots.

The main objective of organizing this training programme was to prepare the Youth to respond during any calamity viz manmade or natural in their areas.

On the occasion, Remu Sharma, CD Vols of  Civil Defence organization Udhampur was decorated with ‘’Certificate of attendance’’  who went through 3 days online Training course on  ‘’Management of Deceased’ held from Jan 10, 2022 to Jan 12, 2022  from NDRF Academy Nagpur .

Among others, Swaran Singh, District Youth Service & Sports  officer Udhampur;  Anuroop  Sharma , Dy SP Area Commandant Home Guards Udhampur;  Swatantra  Dev Kotwal , Dy. Chief Warden Civil Defence;  Ved Parkash Kashyap Dy. Chief warden Civil Defence;  Ashok Mangotra, Divisional Warden CD  and  Balbir Singh,  Sector Warden Udhampur participated  & shared their experience  with  participants of the said course.
