Kishtwar: 2nd batch of students flagged off to Gulmarg to attend skiing course

Kishtwar, Mar 3: District Youth Services & Sports Officer Kishtwar Kharati Lal Sharma today flagged-off 2nd batch of 10 male students to attend 15 day Skiing course at Gulmarg organised by the Youth Services and Sports department J&K UT under the leadership of Director YSS Gazanfer Ali.

During the 15 day course the students from different parts of J&K will be trained in snow skiing.

Speaking on the occasion, the DYSSO thanked Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma for extending full cooperation for every departmental activity.

The DYSSO said that students will be provided   adequate boarding and lodging facilities at the venue and en-route. He said that the 1st batch of 5 girls have already completed the course at Gulmarg.

“They were trained by experienced coaches. Besides learning the art of snow skiing, the camp provided an opportunity to interact with the students coming from different areas of J & K,” he added.

The DYSSO, while interacting with the students and their guide Rayees Ahmed Wani (REK), advised them to follow all Covid safety SOPs, learn the skiing art with  full dedication  and encourage  others to be a part of sports & games.

Others present were Shahnawaz Ahmed Qazi I/c Games fund, Ayaz Ahmed , Kewal Krishan and Parents of the students.
