Comm Secy Revenue visits Kulgam, reviews developmental scenario of the district

Also reviews facilities at Aharbal tourist spot

Kulgam, Mar 2: Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri who is also Incharge Secretary for Kulgam District today visited the district and reviews overall developmental scenario here.

During his visit, the Commissioner Secretary inspected Chambagund bridge and took stock of pace and progress of the bridge.

On the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary was briefed that the bridge is being constructed at an estimated cost of 32.40 crore by R&B and 75% physical work on the bridge is complete.

While reviewing its progress, he stressed upon the officers to ensure completion of bridge within set timeline of June 2022.

The Commissioner Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat; ADC, Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather and other senior officers of the district.

The Commissioner Secretary also visited famous tourist place Aharbal and took stock of facilities available there for tourists and as well as other visitors.

The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion briefed him about the new Developmental and beautification plan of the Aharbal to make it an all season tourist destination.

Later, Commissioner Secretary also chaired a meeting of Revenue Department of the district and reviewed its functioning.

Speaking during the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary instructed the officers to complete the pending Jamabandies by 20th of this month.

While reviewing the progress made in removal of encroachments in the district, the Commissioner Secretary directed the officers to ensure the removal of encroachments from all state and kahchari lands.

Earlier, the Commissioner Secretary also visited Shahoo Village and met Mehmooda Akhtar and her family at her home who won UT Level 3rd prize in staple embroidery craft. He also visited home of Ghulam Ali Sheikh who has won several awards for marvel pieces and designs of carpets craft.

The Commissioner Secretary also interacted with Bisma Jan and appreciated her art of sketching and paintings. He also visited home of Fayaz Ahmad and appreciated him for his work in Paper mache art.
