DC B’pora reviews progress of Education sector, preparedness for reopening of schools

Bandipora, Feb 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad today reviewed the progress of the Education sector during a meeting convened at Mini Secretariat, here.

At the outset, the DDC took a comprehensive review of the various aspects of the education sector including performance of students in recently declared class 10th and 12th results.

  During the meeting, a detailed presentation of recently declared 10th, 12th results and preparedness for reopening of schools was presented by the Chief Education Officer and the results were analysed and discussed.

The expert academicians presented their views, suggestions and recommendations in the backdrop of the results aiming at improving results in future.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Owais said there are challenges in every field but it is our responsibility to find the way. He said the results need to be analyzed threadbare to identify the loopholes so that those can be rectified in future.

 He said  Bandipora being the land of Alim, Adab and Aab, should lead the education sector. He said it is our collective responsibility to ensure quality education through Govt. Schools.

He said, District administration is extensively working for progress and better outcomes from Government Schools. He assured every possible support to uplift the quality of the education sector. He urged to incorporate expert views for better results.

 Joint Director Planning said quarterly or monthly assessments are essential for preparing the student for exams of any nature. He said it is the teacher who can monitor the regular performance of students.

 CEO Bandipora apprised the chair that the department has taken up rationalization, zone wise for maintaining teacher student ratio. He said we have sufficient and competent teachers available who also worked tirelessly during covid.

The meeting also discussed the reopening of schools, vaccination of students and other logistics. DC directed officers to ensure all arrangements are put in place well before the reopening of schools to ensure a smooth teaching learning process.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora Afsar Ali Khan, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Education Officer Bandipora Ab. Roub Shaad, Principal DIET Matiuallah Masoodi, Dy.CEO, Principals and Headmasters of various Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools.
