Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan visits different administrative wards to review snow clearance operations

No lack in snow clearance drives, ensure proper Coordination, Commissioner SMC

Srinagar, Feb 23:In view of heavy   Snowfall  Commissioner SMC  Athar Amir Khan  visited various administrative wards in Srinagar City to review snow clearance drives since wee hours.

He visited  Hazratbal, HMT, lawaypora, Khanyar, Batamaloo, Karan Nagar, SMHS Hospital, CD Hospital,  Barzulla, LalChowk, Rambagh, Jawahar Nagar,  Rainawar and other areas.
Commissioner  who was accompanied by various other officers of the Corporation  passed on clear instructions to the concerned that there should be no lack in snow clearance drives as it has to be  swift and prompt  snow removal exercise.
 Besides clearing snow from  pavements/ footpaths embankments, It has to be ensured that the interiors of the  residential  areas  are to be kept in focus simultaneously for snow clearance said  Athar Amir.
Each and every concerned official on the occasion were directed   not to show any dereliction on their duties in snow clearance exercises.
Besides  Men and Machinery including Snow clearance vehicles Robots,  snow loaders, SMC has pressed  into service  snow plough’s  for swift snow clearance drives.
SMC is clearing snow off the roads on all important stretches running through the city and connecting important destinations, with special focus on the roads leading to hospitals, religious places and the
government offices.
Snow clearance drives are being conducted in  lanes, bylanes ,pavements, Hospitals, Ration Ghats, Electric water supply stations, Religious  places, Government Departments and other vital places on priority.
Commissioner  personally monitored/ reviewed snow clearance from vital roads, link roads, at hospitals, places of worship, city center and major markets.
