Rajouri: Pep Talk held for SDC Trainees, Girl students

Participants educated about self-employment avenues, Skill Development & Mission Youth

Rajouri, Feb 21: On the direction and under overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal, District Administration Rajouri on Monday hosted Pep Talk for Specially abled candidates of Skill Development Centre and Students of Government Girls Model Higher Secondary School. The Pep Talk was organised to generate awareness among the Students about self employment avenues, skill development and Mission Youth initiatives.

The keynote Speaker Sonam Mahajan delivered the Pep Talk and impressed the Trainees and Students with her informative lecture.

A daughter of the soil, Sonam Mahajan is a renowned analyst and thinker and is deeply invested in women rights and social reforms. Being a prominent face on mainstream Indian and international media, she is presently working as a successful entrepreneur in Mumbai.

She encouraged the participants from Skill Development institute for specially abled persons to pursue their vocational career with full dedication to achieve specialty in the trade of their choice. She talked at length about the importance of career development programs meant for small town and village women. She said everyone especially, a woman has to face every situation boldly. She further informed them that the government and people with optimistic thoughts are always there to help. She said that it depends greatly on their (Students) part to take the first step.

“Our Government has made investment in education and skill building a corner stone of our development process. Now, it is time for each one of us to contribute to this national effort which is leading to a broad road map for productive skill development of the youth ” she added. She said that for saving the girl, the first step starts with our own home and all the stakeholders should encourage family members, friends and relatives to save them and make other people aware of it, too.

The  Programme was attended by Abdul Raouf Dar, Principal, GGHSS; Bilal Rashid DSEO Rajouri; Dr. Anum Mirza Women Welfare Officer;  Mohammad Ashraf, Coordinator Skill Development Centre for Specially abled persons and Nazma Sheikh, District Coordinator, DLCW.
