Four Peddlers Arrested with Drugs,Continuous Raids & Searches: Reasi Police

49.5 lacs worth drugs & Cash proceeds seized in a Week: Reasi Police
Reasi:19 Jan : Steering ahead the wheel of special initiative EK YUDH, NASHE KE VIRUDH Reasi Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered 4.770 kg of  Charas worth ₹15,00,000 & Chitta (Heroin) worth ₹50,000 in illegal market. 04 gms  Herion from their possession.
Team of Police Station Katra during surprise raids, checking & frisking at Different places. Naka Police check Post Nomain stopped one swift car bearing registeration number JK 14 C-3967 coming from Jammu towards Katra, conducted thorough checking & frisking of vehicle & persons in it and recovered 4.440 Kg of Charas like substance and 04 gms of Heroin (Chitta) from the possession of two drug peddlers traveling in the Vehicle. Peddlers are identified 1) Amjad Khan S/O Sadiq Hussain, 2) Mohd  Ashraf @Shongu S/O Babu, both residents of village Chamba tehsil Katra district Reasi.
Case FIR no. 10/2022 U/S 8, 20, 21, 22, 25 NDPS Act Police Station Katra is registered and investigations initiated.Vehicle is seized in the case, both the accused are arrested in the instant case, further investigations going on to unearth forward and backward linkages of the peddlers.
In Mahore area a special surprise naka was laid at Malai Nallah by police party of Police Station Mahore. During checking of vehicles & persons crossing the naka, police party noticed suspicious movement chased and intercepted two persons
1) Sunil kumar S/O Bansi Lal R/O Sungal Tehsil Akhnoor, 2) Sandeep Singh S/O Onkar Singh R/O Majalta Teh Majalta
district Udhampur who were on the way towards Mahore. During search, 12 number of Challis of charas like substance weighing about 430 gms worth ₹1,50,000 in the illegal drug market have been recovered from their possession.
In this regard a case FIR no. 04/2022 U/S 8, 20 NDPS Act Police Station Mahore stand registered & investigation initiated.Reasi police has lodged four FIRs in a row with recoveries worth 49.5 lacs including ₹14.35 cash of proceeds of crime in Kakriyal Katra.
Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while giving the details shared that under this drive Reasi Police achieved a major success and crossed the mark of 254 arrests with the registration of 208 Case FIRs of drug abuse   since ending March 2021.
Mr Singh who is monitoring & reviewing each case every alternate day, registered under NDPS Act conveyed that police need quality investigations so as to improve conviction rates and bring the accused to justice. Good work of SDPO’s is being appreciated & team members are being rewarded frequently whereas weaknesses are also pointed out. Teamwork is bringing good noticeable results.
SSP expressed that drug addiction is a disease which is spoiling our future generations to eradicate this menace from society we need support from all the sections of the society, People should come out  to  strengthen the Anti-Narcotics drive of Reasi Police. Efforts are also being put forth to rope in parents, families & friends of addicts in war against Drugs abuse.
