Lok Sabha adjourned till 2 pm

New Delhi, Dec 21 :  Lok Sabha once again witnessed protests on Tuesday, as opposition MPs continued to demand removal of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, among other issues.

Soon after the House met, opposition MPs trooped near the Speaker’s podium, holding placards and raising slogans.

Speaker Om Birla however proceeded with the Question Hour. Protests continued as the questions were being answered. Speaker Birla repeatedly asked the protesting MPs to go back to their seats.

Opposition MPs were holding placards demanding sacking of MoS Home Ajay Mishra. Some placards were demanding exemption of Tamil Nadu from the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), the qualifying test for MBBS and BDS programmes in Indian medical and dental colleges.

Around 11.50 am, Speaker adjourned the House till 2 pm.

Opposition has been demanding the sacking of MoS Ajay Mishra Teni after an SIT report said that the Lakhimpur incident was a deliberate act and not caused due to negligence. In the incident which took place on October 3, four farmers and a journalist were killed after being run over by cars from the Minister’s convoy. Three people from the Minister’s convoy were also killed.
