Police arrests drug peddler in North Kashmir, recovers brown sugar

Srinagar, Dec 18 : J&K police on Saturday arrested an alleged drug peddler in north Kashmir’s Handwara sub district.
Police said 12 grams of brown sugar was recorded from his possession.


“Today a police party of Police Station Kralgund was carrying patrolling in its jurisdiction. While patrolling on Baramulla-Handwara highway near Wangam Kralgund the patrolling party apprehended a suspected person who disclosed his identity as Abdul Hamid Sheikh of Kachloo. When he was frisked 12 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession and accordingly he was arrested and taken to Police Station Kralgund for further investigation,” a police statement said.

Police have registered a case in this regard.

“The accused person is said to be a hardcore drug peddler who is supplying drugs among the youth of the area,” the statement said, adding the war against drug menace will continue to make the society completely drug free.
