DDC Anantnag chairs meeting of officers of NHIDCL

38 grievances of objectors discussed, most resolved on spot

ANANTNAG, NOVEMBER 30: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today chaired a meeting with various stakeholders in the ongoing work on two lane carriageways with paved shoulder, maintenance management and operation of NH 244 Vailoo-Singpora tunnel.

Present on the occasion, various objectors raised their demands and issues related to land acquisition and alignment of the said road. Officials from the revenue department were also present on the occasion.

Giving due patient hearing to their grievances, Dr Singla and officials deliberated on the issues and most of the grievances were redressed on spot.

The DC assured the people that genuine grievances will be taken up for possible redressal under law. He further emphasized that the project is important from the development perspective of the region and people must also take that benefit of the project into consideration and avoid creating unnecessary hindrances.

While listening to the demands of land owners’, the DC stressed their cooperation and support for execution of the road. He further directed the Revenue officials to update the land records of the road, besides constituting a joint committee of R&B, NHIDCL, Revenue etc for social support, rehabilitation, technical support and streamlining any other challenges in the execution of the said road.

A total of 38 objections were filed.

The meeting was attended by ADC Gulzar Ahmad, SDM Kokernag, General Manager NHIDCl Revenue officials besides the objectors.
