India logs 10,549 new COVID cases,  488 deaths

New Delhi, Nov 26: A total of 10,549 people have tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,45,55,431 while the death toll rose to 4,67,468 as 488 succumbed to the virus.

On the other hand, 9,868 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,39,77,830. The recovery rate stands at 98.33 per cent, highest since March last year.

The cumulative active caseload now stands at 1,10,133, less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 63.71 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

Meanwhile, India has administered 120.27 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
