India reports 12,516 new Covid-19 cases and 501 more deaths

New Delhi, Nov 12: India has reported 12,516 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours, while 501 more fatalities were also recorded during the same period, taking the overall death toll to 46,2690, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.

The country also saw 13,155 patients recovering from the ailment during the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,38,14,080. The recovery rate currently stands at 98. 26 per cent, said the Ministry.

“The Active Caseload falls below 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,37,416, which is lowest in 267 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.40 per cent of the country’s total Positive Cases since 2020 March. The daily positivity rate is 1.07 per cent, which is less than two per cent for last 39 days, whereas weekly positivity rate is 1.10 per cent which also remains less than two per cent for the last 49 days now,” the Ministry reported.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. India has so far conducted over 62.85 Crore tests across the country.

With the administration of 53,81,889 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 110.79 Crores, the Ministry said.

“More than 121 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through direct state procurement category,” it said.
