India reports 14,348 COVID-19 cases and 805 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi Oct 29: India has reported 14,348 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours in the country, along with 805 fatalities during the same period, taking the total fatalities to 4,57,191 across the country, according to the Union Health Ministry on Friday.

The recovery rate has now touched 98.19 per cent, said the Ministry, as 13,198 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,36,27,632.

“The Active Caseload falls below 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,61 334, which is the lowest in 244 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.48 per cent of the country’s total Positive Cases since 2020 March” the ministry said.

“The daily positivity rate is 1.12 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for last 25 days, whereas weekly positivity rate is 1.18 per cent which also remains less than 2 per cent for the last 35 days now,” the Ministry said.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. India has so far conducted over 60.58 Crore tests across the country.

In the last 24 hours, India administered 66 lakh vaccine doses as the coverage exceeded 104 Crore as per provisional reports till 7 am Friday,” the Ministry said.
