Sensex down over 600 pts

Mumbai, Oct 28 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday slid by 615 points at 60,530.38 in opening trade as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty too, fell by 184.30 points at 18,026.65.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 61,081 and 60,485.26 points, respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 18,190.70 and 18,002.85 points.

The Mid Cap eased by 0.92 per cent and Small Cap by 1.19 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 9 advanced while 21 declined.

The losers were ITC by 3.23 per cent to Rs 230.70; ICICI Bank by 2.45 per cent to Rs 814.85; SBI by 2.44 per cent to Rs 506.50 and Axis Bank by 2.11 per cent to Rs 770.75.

The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 5.71 per cent to Rs 1,207.10, L& T by 2.92 per cent to Rs 1,834.85, Maruti Suzuki by 1.59 per cent to Rs 7,469.20 and Ultracemco by 1.51 per cent to Rs 7,471.30
