Four Gogi gang members arrested from Rohini

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Four Gogi gang members, including a sharpshooter, who were planning to commit crime in Delhi, were arrested by the Delhi Police from Rohini area on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Sumit (25) alias Sethi, Kunal ((25) alias Rahul, Karan Hans (22) and Suraj Kumar (25). Sumit is the sharpshooter of Gogi gang.

The police collected information about several gangsters with similar modus operandi who were involved in the robberies and crimes involving firearms.

The police got a specific input that Sumit, who was wanted in a murder case, would come on a stolen motor cycle at Helipad Road near DTC depot in Rohini Sector 37 to commit the robbery. Acting on this information, the team laid traps at Karala Road and Helipad Road and apprehended the accused. During the search, one pistol and six live cartridges were recovered from him, said Pranav Tayal, DCP, Rohini Delhi.

On the basis of information extracted from Sumit his three associates, Kunal, Suraj and Karan, were arrested from Rohini and two pistols and 12 live cartridges were also recovered from them.

During interrogation, Sumit told police that he was on bail in a murder case. He along with his associates were allegedly involved in a murder case. He further disclosed that they were planning to effect more incidents in Delhi. The accused were questioned for their involvement in other cases, said Tayal.
