LAWDA conducts demolition drive in Lashkari Mohalla, NFR, Doji Mohalla

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 06: In continuation to its efforts of demolishing the illegal constructions/ structures, the enforcement wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) today demolished several illegal constructions/ encroachments in the area of, Lashkari Mohalla, NFR & Doji Mohalla.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of Enforcement Officers (Zone A & B), besides the revenue team of Tehsildar North.

During the drive several illegal constructions/ encroachments raised by the violators including one second storey, one temporary polythene stall/shop and two tin shops, tin wallings and one room were demolished.

The drive witnessed a little resistance from the assembled crowd but the demolition team remained on forefront who were assisted by local police and the contingent detailed by PCR for the purpose. Besides, legal action was also initiated against the violators.

Moreover, several springs along the NFR area were retrieved which were illegally occupied by the locals.

All the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/ encroachments, unless and until a valid permission is obtained from the competent Authority. Any violation in respect of raising of illegal construction especially within 200mts Green Belt shall be viewed seriously and stern action as deemed fit shall be initiated against the violators.
