Srinagar, Sep 9 : Property worth lakhs of rupees has been destroyed in a devastating fire incident in outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday, official sources said.

They said the fire had broken out at a shopping complex in Soura area on the city outskirts today.

Fire and Emergency Department (F&ED) personnel, police and locals brought the leaping flames under control after about an hours before fire could spread other business establishments. Three shops were damaged in the fire, they said , adding that cause of fire was being ascertained.

Police has registered a case and started investigation, they added.
