Petrol, diesel prices hiked for 16th time in May

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Petrol and diesel rates again witnessed a hike on Monday, 16th time this month, by 29 paise and 26 paise respectively in the National Capital.

Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 94.23, while diesel will be sold at Rs 85.15.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol has increased by 29 paise and diesel by 28 paise in four metros of the country.

After a hike of 28 paise and 28 paise, one litre petrol was priced at Rs 100.47 and one litre diesel was sold at Rs 92.45 in the financial capital Mumbai.

In Chennai, the petrol price increased by 25 paise to be sold at Rs 95.76 and diesel by Rs 89.90 per litre.

While petrol in Kolkata became costlier by 28 paise at Rs 94.25, diesel price was hiked by 26 paise and sold at Rs 88 per litre. Notably, fuel prices are reviewed daily and based on this, new prices are applied every day from 0600 hrs in the morning.
