Nearly 25 lakh vaccines administered to people so far in J&K

People between 45 to 60 years age group on top of getting first doses

Srinagar, May 03 : In Jammu and Kashmir, nearly 25 lakh COVID-19 vaccines have administered so far to the people and the maximum vaccines have been administered to the age group of 45-60-years old individuals till date, officials said.

According to the official figures available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a total of 24, 58,023 vaccination doses were administered to the people among which Dose-I was given to 20,57,947 persons and Dose-II by 4,00,076 persons respectively.

As per the figures, the maximum vaccination till date was taken by the age-group of 45-60 year old.

“The vaccination taken up by this age group includes 10, 56,011 followed by the age-group of above 60-years of age which has recorded a total of 7,49,281 vaccinations in its category,” read the figures.

The official figures further reveal that there are a total of 1561 COVID-19 vaccination sites among which 1545 are government while 16 are private.

Similarly, a total of 1,93,457 COVID-19 vaccine doses were given to the age-group of 30-45 years old followed by the least number of vaccines that were given to the age-group of 10-30 years old includes 59,113 doses.

Pertinently, the vaccination drive for above the age group of 18 to 45 years of age started from May 01, 2021. However the vaccination for above 45 years old had started earlier.

As per the statistics, among the total vaccinations administered so far includes 12, 10,366 male, 8,47,213 females and 368 individuals of other categories.

It also reveals that of total doses administered, Covishield vaccine doses given are 24,54,697 and Covaxin doses given are 5,326
