Rahul’s two-day visit to poll-bound Assam starts today

 

 

Guwahati, Mar 19 : After the election dates were announced for Assam, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will start his first two-day long trip to the poll-bound state from today.

Congress star campaigner, during his two-day visit, will interact with the youths, address three election rallies in Upper and Northern Assam, which is going to polls in the first phase of elections on March 27.

According to the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Gandhi will interact with students at Lahowal in the Dibrugarh district on March 19 and he will also meet tea garden workers at Dinjoy tea estate in Chabua at around 1 pm.

Rahul will address an election campaign rally at Doomdooma in the Tinsukia district on March 19.

Rahul will spend the night at oil town Digboi.

On March 20, he will address two election campaign rallies at Mariani in the Jorhat district and Gohpur in the Sonitpur district.

Earlier on February 14, Congress leader had visited Sivsagar district.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had visited the poll-bound state and visited the h tea garden workers, Self Help Group (SHG) members and addressed a public rally at Tezpur in Sonitpur district.

On the other hand, sources of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) said, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior leaders of the party are expected to visit the poll-bound state in the coming weeks.
